Most of my family lives in Mesa, Arizona, so I’ll probably end up there sometime in my life, just so I can be close to them. My two main complaints about the city, though, are that it is too hot (not much can be done about that) and too spread out (I like my largely car-free existence). There was an article in The Economist recently about how the “biggest city you’ve never heard of” finally may be getting some urban planning. It’ll be interesting to see what comes of it.

I think you should move here now!! And personally I can only agree with your second complaint. I told Jaden I am going to be one of those annoying people that has a winter home there.
What do you mean you can’t do anything about the heat? I personally enjoy using the air conditioner, swimming pool, and auto start to cool off my car. You just have to endure the brief walk from the house to your car. You should try putting a cinnamon air freshener around your neck when leaving the house. The brief increase of temperature can be like opening the oven while baking snicker doodle cookies, and it is a calorie free experience!
Mmmmm, warm snickerdoodles. That makes the stifling heat sound lovely!
