Last week was Meg’s birthday, so we decided to take an extended weekend and go snowboarding in Whistler, B.C., for a few days. Ko came along for the ride, even though he doesn’t snowboard. The first day we tried out the terrain park on Whistler mountain, and the next two days we went to the terrain garden on Blackcomb to try some jumps and rails. We took a couple of good spills, but the sad thing is I still can’t land a jump. I think it’s mainly because I’m too gutless to keep my board straight. I’ll have to work on that.
Here’s a video of Meg attempting some rails. She did better on most of them than I did. The video’s pretty rough because I was facing away from Meg and twisting around to take the video.
I tried to go over a little arch, but I started out with a major problem — I’m sure you’ll spot what it is. The video gets really shaky at the end because Meg is laughing at me. She did way better on the arch than I did, but I probably should get her written consent before I post video of it.
On Meg’s birthday we went to Teppan Village for a yummy teppanyaki dinner. It was really good, and the waiter was very helpful when we asked him the proper way to eat a lobster. After dinner I made a cake in my rice cooker. It probably wasn’t the smartest idea to try an angel food cake mix, but it still tasted pretty good.

The cake was really yummy… it was really tall in the rice cooker until we took it out and it sank and became the most dense angelfood cake known to man. Still good though. Especially with the pistachio frosting. Mmmmmm. Ko was really jealous he couldn’t have any of the cake… he still doesn’t understand he’s just a stuffed Koala (and plus, he has no mouth.)
Whistler was a ton of fun! But man, we’re really bad at jumps.
I am glad to hear that Ko got to go to Whistler. He always enjoys a good outing with his pals. Too bad I couldn’t go…
Ahhhhh hahahahahaha these videos are so funny! Then you throw your arms up at the end, as if to say, “Tada!”
